Thank you UG for your dedication to the creation of this wonderful gift we call music! UG doesn’t try to rob you blind with their pro subscription and that is huge as a performer where every dollar is significant. I strongly recommend this app and more specifically upgrading to pro. It was definitely a highlight in my music journey. I was overwhelmed at just how kind everyone was in their comments. A cherry on top for me was when I had one of my shots featured. In my experience, everyone is extremely supportive and encouraging, from the users to the UG support team. Moreover, the UG community of performers and music enthusiasts is second to none in my opinion. I have used the app countless times while performing and really don’t know what I’d do without it. UG has definitely played a significant role in my progression as a guitarist and singer/songwriter.

I remember printing off tabs before the days of smartphone technology. Make sure to cancel the auto renewal (if you can, some people have trouble with that too). Definitely avoid or be super careful with them. I assume they make a lot of easy money with this free trial shady tactic. They either do not reply, or reply in a condescending way repeating the same answers over and over. They only gave me a partial refund and charged me 25EUR for a monthly subscription which I did not even need. I immediately asked for a refund, without having used their digital content whatsoever, and they denied. There was no notification that a charge was imminent. The only mention of a charge was in a lengthy 'Terms and Conditions' file which I did not carefully read. They claim that I gave my consent but I did not. 7 days after they charged me 100EUR as an annual subscription fee. I signed up for a free trial period and was fool enough to give them my PayPal details.

I understand growth and revenue brings in new people that you can’t control but at what cost to what you started it for? When I play guitar I get AWAY from social media which is what I believe every musician does with music “escape”. I just feel like y’all invited the wrong people. Don’t get me wrong I see how it’s inviting. It used to be for musicians but now it’s who has the best mic and camera. I don’t wanna see everyone else’s work until I’m ready to scroll. Wasn’t as many features and the videos were thumbnailed up too and now it feels like watching people is more important than playing. The older format where you had to select the videos is a better option to me. Videos already playing and loading feels more like a “Facebook” or “instagram” social media. Would still be 5 stars but I truly don’t like the newer layout.
